Urbis provided a range of town planning services to help transform the former Woollahra Council Depot site in Waterloo into a mixed-use development that will create three new street block developments comprising active retail streetscapes and tower forms. Urbis’ involvement commenced with pre-acquisition due diligence advice right through to securing development approval

Due to the scale of the site, the City of Sydney required developer JQZ to run three concurrent competitive design processes, which Urbis successfully managed to maximise the bonus floorspace award.

Urbis worked closely with the three winning architects to secure development approval on the former Woollahra Council Depot for a mixed use high rise residential development spanning three new street blocks

At their completion, Urbis worked closely with the three winning architects – each responsible for delivering an apartment building – to prepare a detailed development application for the entire site. Urbis also helped JQZ negotiate with the City of Sydney to secure community infrastructure bonuses across the site.

With Urbis’ assistance, JQZ received development consent for the trio of apartment buildings in early 2016.
