Sam has over 15 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors of the property industry, specialising in statutory rating and taxation assessments.
Sam’s primary role relates to the strategic management of statutory valuations and outgoings (land tax, council rates and other state and local government levies) for both institutional and private clients across Australia, as well as broader advisory work across a wide range of property types.
Sam specialises in property valuations with specialist expertise in all areas of statutory valuations, including major retail, commercial, industrial and infrastructure assets, with a focus on land valuation assessments in NSW and QLD.
In his role, Sam provides expert statutory valuation advice, objection and appeal management (including expert reports and evidence), budgeting advice and forecasts of statutory outgoings, transaction due diligence and negotiations with rating authorities in relation to rating policy.
Experience
Represented major institutions, superannuation funds, listed property trusts and high net worth individuals/families in a wide range of statutory valuation matters.
Recent experience has included strategic advice on major shopping centres, large-scale CBD development sites and infrastructure assets (airports, hospitals, ports), benchmarking analysis, risk assessments informing due diligence advice on acquisitions, and all aspects in the management of rating and taxation objections and appeals nationally.
Detailed advice in the application of statutory valuation and taxation legislation to private clients and industry bodies in relation to major commercial and retail assets.
Risk analysis and forecasts of statutory charges to inform due diligence processes and development feasibility studies for large-scale retail, commercial and mixed use retail developments.
