Nick Field is a highly experienced public sector consultant, Chief Operating Officer and for-purpose Board member, with a deep knowledge of the sector’s services, structures, challenges and policies.

His areas of expertise cover business planning, organisational improvement, commercial advisory and project implementation. This technical expertise and sector focus has seen him design and manage many impactful projects for the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments, working alongside senior executives.

Nick’s career highlights include supporting Victoria Police with the implementation of the Vehicle Impoundment (Hoon) legislation, leading corporate services through change for a regulator; and award-winning emergency management sector regional collaborations following Black Saturday . He has a strong interest in delivering public value to improve outcomes for individuals and communities; and enjoys being called upon by leaders for his workshop facilitation expertise regardless of topic or sector.

Some of Nick’s project experience includes: 

  • Supported Victoria Police with the implementation of the Vehicle Impoundment (Hoon) legislation
  • Developed public value strategic and business plans with a range of Justice business units and public entities
  • Conducted health sector stakeholder de-briefs following the H1N1 Pandemic
  • Facilitated workshops and wrote successful business case submission for multiple human service sector clients
  • Created and led award-winning local government regional collaborations in emergency management post Black Saturday
  • Led organisational reviews of Victorian Courts and tribunals
  • Developed and deployed Business Continuity Management Frameworks for fire agencies
  • Consulted with diverse stakeholders, to define and develop materials targeted at international students
  • Assisted in establishing the project management and organisational review methodologies for State Services Authority (SSA)
  • Process optimisation lead in a move to regional working in the Severn Trent Water (UK) business improvement group
