We’re very excited to welcome Andy Johnston, our new Director of Transport Planning, in Queensland. As a technical leader in the field, Andy has close to 20 years’ experience as a traffic engineer and transport planner.
“Having previously partnered with Urbis Consultants in the Town Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Consultation fields, I have always been impressed by their professionalism and drive. This is a team that I have always wanted to be part of.” Andy says.
With a strong presence in the industry, and a growing need within the business and community, Andy has a significant role to expand the Transport Advisory service offering within Urbis to include Queensland.
Urbis Director Ashley Lane says, “Transport advisory is such an important part of the projects we work on at Urbis, and the opportunity to now collaborate in-house on transport matters in Queensland is very exciting!”
With an expansive career we’re confident the Queensland business will thrive under Andy’s global expertise.
Urbis Group Director, Ray Haeren adds “Urbis is mindful of the increasing complexity of the urban environment and the key issues which are required to support integrated planning and improved outcomes from a liveability, efficiency and sustainability perspective. Andy has the strategic perspective, innovative thinking and practical approach which so perfectly aligns with the Urbis model.”
Andy will help build upon our existing Transport Advisory services in New South Wales and Victoria, joining Graham McCabe, Alison Lee and Supun Perera in growing this important part of our business.
Andy is most proud of the impacts that his efforts have in the real world, and that every project makes a difference. Driven by the people, Andy is determined to make decisions that have a positive impact on the community – providing safer, more accessible networks.
