Urbis is delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) NSW Division’s CityLife Project competition.
The CityLife Project is a competition that celebrates innovative ideas by offering three leading organisations the unique opportunity to partner with the UDIA NSW on research projects in 2016.
With the primary aim of creating a paradigm shift in how we plan and develop cities in the future, the competition focuses on showcasing original research ideas that will contribute to creating liveable, affordable and connected cities.
UDIA received more than 60 submissions for the three categories, with judges choosing from an impressive array of organisations, in the end narrowing it down to three short-listed proposals for each category.
Urbis proposed two separate projects under the Liveability and Affordability categories. Both were shortlisted by an eminent judging panel, including recognised sustainability advisor Maria Atkinson, urbanist and public commentator Linda Gregoriou, and one of Time Magazine’s 40 Most Influential Minds in Technology, Vivek Wadhwa.
The shortlisted finalists are now preparing Stage 2 submissions for final judging and award.
Urbis’ research ideas draw on the team’s multidisciplinary expertise in city shaping and transformation, to propose innovation, challenge and change for Liveable and Affordable Cities of the future.
Each of the three category winners will receive funding, branding and sponsorship opportunities worth up to $145,000.
The winners will be announced in time for CityLife events to begin in February 2016.
