Urbis’ Queensland design studio continues to grow with three new senior hires bolstering a strong and expanding national team.
Mark Damant and Rita Soudo will join as Directors in Urbis’ Brisbane and Gold Coast offices respectively, while Andrew Kyriacou returns to Urbis as an Associate Director in the Brisbane office. Each of the new senior team members cited that the creative, collaborative and energetic culture of Urbis’ National Design team and the wider organisation attracted them to the new roles.

Mark Damant is well-known in Queensland’s design and property industry, specialising in built form and urban precinct visioning. Mark joins from award-winning design practice, Woods Bagot and brings experience in shaping and designing major precincts and buildings across Brisbane and Queensland. Mark has deep expertise in urban design, precinct creation, feasibility studies, mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration.
Rita Soudo is a new face in the Gold Coast, previously based in Western Australia. Portuguese-born and trained, Rita brings both national and international expertise and a new perspective to the region, with key skills in both urban and public realm design and landscape architecture. Rita has a key interest in sustainability and has delivered a broad range of city-shaping projects across the public, commercial, residential, industrial, educational, health and mixed-use sectors.
Andrew Kyriacou has a passion for innovation and landscape architectural designs that excite. Urbis is thrilled to welcome Andrew back to the team, building on his previous track record with the firm in the design and delivery of projects like Howard Smith Wharves and the Chermside outdoor dining precinct. A proven collaborator and innovator, both the local Design team and Urbis clients will enjoy the benefit of Andrew’s expanded expertise and experience.
