Urbis is proud to support the NSW Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) Emerge series.  Last night an enthusiastic group of  over 40 young and emerging planners learnt tried and tested tips on ‘How to be an expert witness’ .

Land & Environment Court’s Commissioner Graham Brown  joined me to  provide a valuable insight into:

  • the obligations of a witness
  • what makes a good report and
  • what makes a good expert

The audience were coached in simple and effective ways of providing expert evidence and expert reports that assists the Court in understanding the position taken by an expert.  These insights were gained from an enormous depth of real life experience at both ends of the  courtroom.

The next event in the  PIA Emerge series, to be held at Urbis on  June 29, will examine Sydney’s urban expansion and look in detail at the development of the Greater Macarthur Preliminary Land Release Strategy.
