The project, led by Director Marion Fredriksson and the Perth Design team, received the PLA Western Australian regional award in the Leisure and/or Open Space: Planning category, for outstanding examples of strategic planning for open space or leisure facilities that have enriched or revitalised a community.
The South Perth foreshore strategy and management plan involved regional public open space planning for the foreshore area. It documented a stakeholder-informed suite of environmental, social and recreational strategies for a long-term plan to revitalise the foreshore, as well as adjacent commercial and tourist precincts to develop the area into a world-class attraction.
