Urbis Sector Housing Social

Housing - Social and affordable housing

We’re shaping a future for housing that’s positive, sustainable, and inclusive for all. Our team draws on deep market insight and data-driven analysis, powered by the multi-disciplinary expertise of Urbis and strengthened by partnerships with government bodies, investors, developers and community housing providers.

We offer specialist support for social housing redevelopments, women’s refuges, affordable rental housing, and disability accommodation. By leveraging capabilities in economics, sustainable design, financial viability and both statutory and strategic planning, we support clients at every stage of their project. We’ve played a key role in applications for programs such as the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), Housing Investment Fund (HIF) and Affordable Housing Partnership Program (AHPP), the Big Housing Build, helping clients, minimise risk, maximise returns, and navigate public sector dynamics.

Our portfolio includes the development of the City of Perth’s housing strategy and shaping a social inclusion legacy for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Since 2022, we have partnered with Homes Victoria, Building Communities, and Icon to provide planning, economics and design advice, underpinning the redevelopment of three public housing sites under Victoria’s first Ground Lease Model. In New South Wales, we’re working with Property and Development NSW on transforming the 42-hectare Parramatta North precinct, delivering a diversity of housing solutions over the next 30 years.
