Riley is a multidisciplinary urban designer and city strategist with a decade of experience and understanding in both a planning and urban design context. His expertise is focused on complex mixed-use precinct master planning and urban renewal strategy, with strong experience in the transport infrastructure and urban design policy sectors. He is an experienced team leader, having produced industry-leading outcomes across a range of local and international projects, at every scale of planning, design and delivery. Riley recently led the team on the Griffith University Nathan Campus Master Plan, where his nuanced understanding of the challenges facing contemporary campuses allowed him to define a future purpose for the precinct – through developing an ideal mix of complementary functions, populations and amenities. In the Birkdale Community Precinct Vision, Riley led the team in developing a framework of strategies and catalyst projects that demonstrated a direct line-of-sight from the community’s needs and values identified during the consultation process – enabling community support for the outcome. Prior to returning to Brisbane in early 2019, Riley spent 2 years in London, where he was fortunate to work on high profile transport infrastructure, aviation and master planning projects, everywhere from Canada to Dublin.
