Bringing a vision to life
Urbis worked with Rockhampton Regional Council on the redevelopment of the Riverside Precinct, a world-class waterfront destination on the shores of Queensland’s Fitzroy River.
The design features playgrounds, river lookouts, shaded walkways and gathering spaces, with a revitalised streetscape along iconic Quay Street that seamlessly connects the city’s edge to the riverbank parklands.
Urbis delivered the master planning, schematic design and construction documentation for the project, helping to bring the vision to life from concept through to delivery.

City greening
The photos below depict the outcomes of our public realm and landscape strategies coming to life, seven years on.
The canopies of the established trees reduce heat island effect and make Rockhampton the coolest regional town in Queensland.
