ECU Mount Lawley Redevelopment Master Plan
Client:
Development WA
Planning with purpose
We were the lead consultant for the ECU Mount Lawley Redevelopment project for Development WA, one of Perth’s most iconic redevelopment projects. We led a diverse team to prepare a Draft Master Plan, which was opened for public comment.
Our role included master planning, urban design, and cultural placemaking, in collaboration with MJA Studio, Shape Urban Pty Ltd, and Flyt Pty Ltd. We also prepared a Cultural Context and Place Narrative Strategy, provided economic advice, and engaged extensively with the community and stakeholders.
Designing the future
The Draft Master Plan reflected community feedback, honoured the site's creative and educational legacy, and outlined a vibrant mixed-use community.
“Bringing our teams together to focus on cultural context, legacy, and community through effective stakeholder engagement produced a Draft Master Plan for Development WA that was informed and visionary,” said Megan Gammon, Project Lead at Urbis. This project showcased the collaborative spirit and expertise of our planning, design, and heritage teams.
The outcome is a master plan addresses current needs while anticipating future opportunities and will help to shape the area into a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable urban village.
We delivered a community-led master plan that delivers an authentic, mixed-use precinct.
