Urbis partnered with Cambridge JMD Australia to obtain a Development Approval for a Renewable Energy Facility (Solar Farm) in Upper Haughton, QLD.

The Development Approval provides for a 1,065MW Solar Farm, across 1,566 ha. This is the third largest Solar Farm in Queensland.
Urbis has been the lead consultant for the project: providing due diligence investigations; market sounding exercises; coordination of all technical consultants; and prepared, lodged and managed a Development Application with Burdekin Shire Council.

The approved solar farm will contribute to Australia’s renewable energy capacity and supercharge far North Queensland’s renewable energy zone.

Urbis adopted a collaborative and strategic approach to navigate the development assessment process. We worked closely with the client and State and Local authorities to ensure the development aligned with the strategic objectives of the region and contributes positively to the local economy, while protecting key ecological and environment attributes.

The approved Solar Farm will contribute to Australia’s renewable energy capacity and supercharge Far North Queensland’s Renewable Energy Zone. This project embodies Urbis’ commitment to enabling Australia’s net zero transition and shaping cities and communities for a better future.
