The Aurora Education Foundation (Aurora) and Urbis have entered the second year of a partnership focused on championing Indigenous students.
Aurora is an Indigenous organisation that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from the end of Year 7 through to mid-career, enabling students to realise their full academic and career potential.
Leila Smith, CEO, Aurora Education Foundation said Aurora has had great success supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through high school, university, and into their careers.
“It's fantastic to have Urbis stand with us as we back the efforts and dreams of Indigenous students and provide practical support that is both academic and cultural throughout their education journey,” Leila said.
“Through this partnership, Urbis is helping create more opportunities for Indigenous students to thrive while strengthening the pipeline of Indigenous professionals across a range of industries, including urban consulting.”
Aurora recently hosted its Study Tour Symposium at Urbis’ Sydney office, providing Urbis directors and partners the opportunity to share their insights and experience with Aurora scholars through a workshop focused on pitching.
The Symposium brought Aurora scholars together to prepare them for an inaugural study tour to the United States to seek scholarship opportunities at some of the world’s most prestigious universities.
Urbis is excited to continue working alongside Aurora to continue to explore and identify opportunities and pathways for Indigenous students, including those interested in pursuing a career in the urban consulting industry.
The partnership commenced in July 2025.
