This program has been a launchpad for many Urbis leaders, some even rising to Director-level positions. Application and selection process
We’re looking for interns who’ll bring a fresh perspective to Urbis, along with curiosity, creativity and a genuine passion for making a positive impact. Beyond your studies, we want to understand what drives you – your ideas, ambitions – and how you’ll contribute to the unique culture of our multidisciplinary team.
While academic progress and relevant coursework are important, we recognise that qualities like problem-solving, effective communication and teamwork matter just as much. If you’re eager to grow, learn and help shape cities and communities, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply online
When the recruitment process begins, apply for the internship role(s) that interest you via our Careers page. Upload your resume, your most recent academic transcript, evidence of Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, and any other required documents (like a portfolio). -
Complete an online assessment & video interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online psychometric assessment and a video interview. No preparation needed for the assessment. It’s not a test, simply a tool we use to understand your strengths and working style. -
Invited to a in-person interview
The next stage is an in-person interview in your local Urbis office. This is a great opportunity for you to meet our talented colleagues, get a glimpse of our office environment and witness first-hand the atmosphere that drives our work. -
Receive a formal offer
If you’re successful, our Talent Acquisition team will give you a phone call to formally offer you a position in our program. Congratulations, your exciting journey with Urbis now begins.
To be eligible, you will need to
- Be enrolled in a course relevant to the role
- Stay enrolled throughout the internship program
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- Be available to work 2–4 days per week during the program
