Urbis has appointed highly respected design leader Rhiannon Saward as Director in its national design team, based in the Melbourne office.
With more than 24 years of experience spanning both the private sector and local government, Rhiannon brings a balanced and considered approach to leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering context-sensitive solutions across complex public realm projects.
“I wanted to join Urbis because they have the trifecta!” Rhiannon said. “I value collaboration, I love working at the front-end of projects, and I love working with people to see them shine.”
Rhiannon’s expertise in shaping public spaces and infrastructure draws from a career that bridges landscape architecture, urban design, master planning and strategy.
She has guided the design of complex, large scale projects, advised on urban policy, and developed strategies that balance creativity with practical outcomes.
Her portfolio includes work on significant public realm and infrastructure projects, where she has facilitated collaboration across disciplines to deliver outcomes that balance community needs, environmental considerations, and design excellence.

Rhiannon is passionate about mentoring and supporting colleagues, finding great reward in seeing others grow and develop professionally. Her appointment strengthens Urbis’ collaborative design capability in Melbourne and enhances the firm’s national design offering.
She commenced her role on Tuesday 27th February.
