Melissa is shaping the future of evidence-based urban development in Asia and the Middle East through the economics of masterplanning. With a decade of experience in applied economics, Melissa advises property developers, investors and governments to shape successful and responsible urban developments.
Melissa leads real estate market studies, supply and demand forecasting, financial feasibility and highest and best use studies for precinct- and city-scale mixed-use masterplans. With prior experience at the Singapore Economic Development Board, Melissa brings unique and creative insights at the intersection of real estate and industry development to provide strategic advice on precinct land use and economic activation.
Beyond economics, Melissa excels in leading and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams alongside planners, designers, engineers, and other specialists to bring urban developments to fruition.
Melissa also advises on creative and cultural precincts, combining her expertise in urban economics with a passion for arts and culture. As part of Cistri’s Creative Industries interest group, she develops insights and solutions to foster sustainable creative precincts in cities through mixed-use development.
An advocate for multidisciplinary approaches in urban development, Melissa actively engages with media platforms and educational institutions to share knowledge on the interplay between economics, urban planning and design for city development. Melissa speaks English and Bahasa Indonesia.
