Joanne is a highly skilled heritage professional with qualifications in planning, historic conservation and urban design. With more than 25 years’ experience across the public and private sectors in the UK and Australia, she brings deep expertise in built heritage and heritage planning.
Joanne has worked on a range of high-profile heritage places. In London, her project experience includes Parliament Square, the former Commonwealth Institute (now the Design Museum) and the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. In Australia, she has worked on significant places including Sydney Harbour and the Parkes Observatory in New South Wales.
Before joining Urbis, Joanne spent seven years working within the Queensland Government Heritage Branch. Her
work focused on state heritage place assessments, providing heritage planning advice to local government, and leading strategic heritage projects.
Joanne specialises in heritage impact assessment, heritage management planning and conservation management plans. She also provides advice on development proposals, including adaptive reuse projects, master planning and heritage planning studies and controls.
