Leading property advisory group Urbis is launching a new business in Singapore called Cistri in response to increasing demand from clients to establish a permanent presence in the region.

Urbis chief executive Benjamin Pollack said the new Singapore business, which will provide economic, planning, design, valuation and transaction advice, would look to grow to 50 staff within three years.

We have now grown to be the market leader for our services in Australia and we plan to build a similar presence in the most rapidly urbanising region in the world.

“We have now grown to be the market leader for our services in Australia and we plan to build a similar presence in the most rapidly urbanising region in the world,” Mr Pollack said.

Urbis’ Peter Hyland will assume the role of regional director and will be joined by Peter Holland from the company’s economics unit and Jack Backen. They will all be in Singapore from early next month and will use the name Cistri, which is an abbreviation of city strategy.
