Violence against women and children is a human rights issue and Urbis applies a feminist lens to its contribution to ending violence.

Beginning over twenty years ago, our team continues to work with the violence against women sector, men’s behaviour change advocates, the justice and child protection systems, and specialist services to gather and translate the evidence for effective prevention, responses, and recovery programs and services.

Our work is reflected in reports to state parliaments and judiciaries, to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and to various state police forces and agencies.

In all this work, we draw on the experience and expertise of those affected by family violence, the people working with them, and the influencers in generating systems change.

Our focus is on gathering and translating the best available evidence to ensure the investment of funding, time and effort that goes into prevention, response and recovery is culturally attuned, timely and holistic, to achieve the best possible results.
