Nicki Hutley has many years of experience providing economic, financial market and policy advice to public and private sector clients.

She has a keen understanding of macroeconomic trends and the diverse effects of social and investment policies. Nicki applies this knowledge to shape business and government strategies that provide positive economic, environmental and community outcomes. She is especially passionate about addressing climate change and the effective use of infrastructure and technology to improve opportunities for all.

Nicki is an expert in economic impact assessment, cost-benefit analysis, economic foresighting, stakeholder engagement and government policy reviews. She is also highly adept at preparing reports, research papers and presentations in a way that makes complex issues accessible to a wide audience.

Before joining Urbis, Nicki worked at Access Economics and was the Chief Economist and Director of NSW Economics at KPMG. At Urbis, she has provided modelling and analysis to inform infrastructure investments in WA for the Property Council; the economic and social benefits of the NSW Government’s Ability Links program, which received an Impact Assessment Award; and conducted a cost‑benefit analysis of cyclone mitigation strategies, which has helped lower premiums for at-risk homes in Queensland.
