New research has found the majority of young Australians would rather spend their money on travel than investing in a home.

But there’s debate as to why that’s the case.

Nicki Hutley, chief economist at Urbis, conducted a similar survey which found 90 per cent of people aged under 25 thought they’d never own a home.

But she said the result didn’t necessarily mean they didn’t want to.

“Not thinking you can and not wanting to are two quite different things,” she explained on 3AW Drive.
